SESAC, BMI, ASCAP and a host of music industry friends joined in celebration at the SESAC office on Wednesday, October 4 to recognize Megan Moroney’s debut single, “Tennessee Orange,” topping the charts.
“Tennessee Orange,” which Moroney (SESAC) co-wrote with Ben Williams (ASCAP), David Fanning (BMI), and Paul Jenkins (BMI), hit the number one spot in June. Catapulting her into the spotlight, the Kristian Bush-produced song led to Moroney’s record deal with Sony Music Nashville/Columbia Records after it quickly went viral and surpassed a million streams within days of its release.
